Quick Small Business Branding Resource

From an illustrator/ brand designer specializing in illustration design for small business branding 

I’m an illustrator/ brand designer and my branding studio specializes in small business branding. So when I’m picking up my coffee, I often find myself sort of critiquing the branding around me and the biggest thing I’ve noticed is that I like it when small businesses like coffee shops include art in their branding, especially the small details, like on the coffee cups and coffee cuffs or really any kind of day to day packaging. 

I know it can seem a little silly spending any large amount of time thinking about details that small, but in my experience in brand design and as a customer it really makes a difference. Sure, whether the cups have art or not probably won’t be THE deciding factor when I’m choosing what coffee shop I want to visit but it does really make me smile when I see it and it does make me want to return more often.

I see larger companies like Starbucks make use of art in their day to day operations like coffee cups/ packaging like this all the time but only rarely see small businesses do the same, which seems to me like a real shame. 

So I decided to do something about it. I made up some illustrations I thought might work well as packaging stickers. They probably work best on coffee cups but they could easily be used for things like togo boxes or paper bags too. The stickers are designed to be downloaded and easily printed, so you can print as many as you need and start bringing a little art into your small business’s brand.

I’m not really sure if small business owners are even interested in something like this but coming from an illustrator/ brand designer and frequent local coffee shop customer I feel like it’s worth bringing a little art into your business, so I’ve attached the free sticker download here.

I’m thinking about doing more freebies like this in the future so if you’re a small business owner, I’d love to hear what kind of illustration might be the most useful to your brand/ business. I’ve seen some illustrators offer some small icons for things like menus or generic secondary logos too, so maybe I’ll try something like that in the future.
